Our Disney Resort Quest: Why Art of Animation Tops Our List

We’re on a quest to experience every Walt Disney World resort and we’d love for you to join us on the adventure.

Our current favorite on this journey? Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. Though it’s considered a “Value Resort,” the experience feels anything but ordinary. Here’s what makes this property magical.

What Makes Art of Animation Stand Out

• Immersive theming – Larger-than-life characters and movie settings bring you feel fully inside the Disney bubble.

• Skyliner access –   Disney includes complimentary transportation in your hotel stay.  Here you’ll find two options: Bus service and Direct gondola rides to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios.

• Choice of building and location – After walking an average of 8 miles per day in the parks, proximity counts.  Art of Animation lets you choose your setting and distance from the main building (Animation Hall) and other resort features.

  • Finding Nemo Family Suites – most centrally located

  • Cars Family Suites

  • Lion King Family Suites

  • Little Mermaid Standard Rooms – farthest, but most budget-friendly

• Onsite drawing classes – These classes are taught by Disney animators and guide you through drawing a Disney character.  Check the activities schedule for offerings during your stay.

• Adjacent to Pop Century Resort – A short walk across the Skyliner bridge connects you to another food court, retail options, and unique theming without navigating transportation.

Things to Consider

• Crowds and families – The resort can be busy, especially at peak times. Families with young children are common.

• Pricing and availability – Family suites cost more than standard rooms, but include two bathrooms, a microwave, small frig and a separate bedroom.  This also means more space for wheelchairs and other bulky necessities. The Little Mermaid rooms are more affordable but book quickly.
